Each day’s content includes a Memory Verse, a short Bible passage to read and reflect on, a question to discuss as a family together and simple prompts for prayer. Join us for 5-10 minutes as we P.R.A.Y.:
P, PAUSE to be still,
R, REJOICE with a Memory Verse and REFLECT on the Bible,
A, ASK God to help us and others, and…
Y, say YES to God’s plans for our lives.
Over the course of the year, the Lectio for Families content follows weekly themes. Sometimes these themes are seasonal (e.g. Advent, Lent), or they are around a subject (e.g. Prayer in the Psalms, Mark’s Gospel). The content also regularly focuses on six practices that help us follow the three great loves at the heart of Christianity:
We will grow in our love for God through prayer and creativity (Matthew 22:37).
We will grow in our love for one another through hospitality and justice (Matthew 22:39).
We will grow in our love for the world through mission and learning (Matthew 28:18-20).
24-7 Prayer started in 1999, when a simple prayer meeting, led by young people, suddenly went viral. Since then, prayer rooms have been set up in more than half the nations on Earth, creating a non-stop, global prayer meeting that has continued for every minute of this century so far. Find out more
Over the years, 24-7 Prayer has become an international movement of prayer, mission and justice, involving churches of every kind, and launching lots of exciting new projects too, including Prayer Spaces in Schools.
Prayer Spaces in Schools provides resources to help churches serve their local schools by temporarily turning classrooms into creative prayer spaces. These spaces offer children, whether they have faith or not, opportunities to reflect on what’s going on in their lives, to ask big questions and, if they want to, try praying in creative ways.
